The latest design from Leon Ransmeier, New York-based industrial designer, is this desk called Folia. Ransmeier shows in this design his minimalist mastery in the use of sheets of metal. The desk comprises four movable trays which can accommodate stacks of paper.

The desk represents the brilliant contemporary minimalism on the edge of functional design and sculpture. The similar attitude we can find in the form of the legendary Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut, which was built in 1949 by famous architect Philip Johnson (1906 - 2005). And why this house? Because the Folia desk by Ransmeier was originally designed for Christy MacLear, the executive director of the Philip Johnson Glass House. Now it is available at Wright Now.

We used five pictures of the desk to make a small animated edit.
