Two days ago we have posted Musterzimmer project by Depot Basel which was inspired by theory of Bauhaus movement of the 1920s, in which architect Hannes Meyer (1889 – 1954) was one of the most important figures. Now we have here his architecture masterpiece.
Our friend Jan Bouška of Freshlabels urban fashion store has reported us about his unique modernist building close to Berlin
Important Bauhaus architect, teacher and theoretist built his most celebrated work, the complex of Federal School of the Confederation of German trade unions in Bernau close to Berlin between 1928 and 1930 following his program of radical functionalism. Brick puristic structures are nestled in the idylic countryside surrounding and create calm environment of strict geometric forms and modernist austerity.
