At Salone del Mobile in Milan last month, Domus has presented pioneering exhibition "Future in the Making". The installation in Palazzo Clerici was created by master of masters Enzo Mari.
There, we could see new possibilities of producing objects in the work of Markus Kayser, Dirk Vander Kooij, Kram and Weisshaar among others. But we were more interested in the simple installation created by Enzo Mari according his Autoprogettazione philosophy originally came from 1974.
Chairs, tables and more were made from the simple pieces of wood to create natural installation in the rich historical environment of the palace. The installation and its philosophy of the self-made furniture contrasted with the exhibited products created by the specific machines or natural movements and elements very much. But in the 1970s was Mari`s project maybe more revolutionary than these producing experiments today.
Autoprogettazione Sedia 1 chair is produced by Finnish Artek today.
