We love all the seaplanes, flying boats and amphibians. Around the Second world war, the travel experts foresaw future of the big flying boats as the best possibility for long distance traveling. However, the classic landing airplanes leaded the dance after the war in the transoceanic civic flying.
This illustration by the American illustrator, George Shepherd, represent utopian vision of the gigantic flying boat, as well as very nice example of the precise American illustration influenced by streamlining of the 1940s. His idea of several floors amphibian is fantastic. It is shame that future has not been gracious toward the huge flying boats in that time.
