Some time ago we had a great time at the legendary Era café in Brno, which belongs to the finest modernist examples of Brno architectural school of the 1920s and 1930s.
Designed by Josef Kranz (1901 – 1968) in 1928 and 1929, Era is an exciting exercise in a composition and architectural balance. Built in a quiet residential area of Černá Pole, the building is simple cubic volume with the dominant facade inspired by abstract painting as well as influences of De Stijl art and architecture movement.
After many years in teh bad shape, the café was restored to its original state with beautiful facade and colorful interior.
