These strange looking stylized hands are the fine crafted drink stirrers by legendary manufacture Carl Auböck from Vienna, Austria. More sculptural decorative items than functional drink stirrers, the objects are made out of brass with nickel surface. The design originates from 1950s.
Family of Auböcks was ranked among the intellectual and creative society of Vienna since the19th century, when the first Carl Auböck founded there the metal workshop. After that his son Carl (1900 - 1957) invented the typical Auböck design style, which culminated during 1950s in decorative modernist work include all from hooks to lamps and chairs.
