Designed by kinetic artist Yaacov Agam for Dizengoff square in Tel Aviv in 1986, this fountain is situated in the heart of the biggest Bauhaus style city in the world.

Spotted during our Tel Aviv visit, the Fire and Water Fountain is the kinetic street installation featuring typical colorful geometric motives from the repertoire of the work by our favorite kinetic Israeli artist. Agam (born 1928), known for his reliefs, sculprures, moving images, as well as actions and happenings, added the fountain to the modernist square designed by Genia Averbuch during the 1930s and featuring some of the most valuable Tel Aviv functionalist buildings.

More about Tel Aviv modernism soon.
