Our friends from ACE furniture company presented their new collection of wooden furniture in the collaboration with Adrien Rovero at Salone del Mobile in Milan last month. This beautiful catalogue they introduced as well.

ACE is a collaborative project of Camille Blin, Arnault Weber and Emmanuel Mbessé founded two years ago. This catalogue/poster featuring nice illustration of Swiss mountains by Jeremy Schorderet caught our eyes very much. New products include Bout de Bois bottle opener and Capra bench by Adrien Rovero or Suspension hanging light by ACE team.

More on minimalist bottle opener very soon.

Our friends from Depot Basel are heading to Wroclaw this week presenting personal insight into the lifes of six individuals: a journalist, an architect, three designers and a project manager. The project is supported by WrocLOVE Design Festival.

Be there!

Yesterday we have visited old Granary in Suchomasty close to Beroun, Czech republic to acquire some modernist furniture pieces for our new OKOLO/Pedal Project office and gallery in Prague.

Beautiful day in the old granary owned by our friend and collaborator Jan Jaroš od Cohn Auction we spent by selecting of some pieces from his wonderful collection of mid-century modernism. At the end we choose some Scandinavian anonymous chairs, 1950s floor lamp by Josef Hůrka for Napako, as well as one 1930s steel tubes table and more.

Thanks Jan Jaroš of Cohn Auction very much and you will see these extraordinary pieces in our new office and gallery very soon.

We love work of American modernist illustrator and graphic designer Charley Harper (1922 – 2007) very much. Now we have it on skateboard desk and memory cards as well.

His mid-century work includes illustrations of everything around. He is best known for his highly stylized wildlife prints, posters and book illustrations featuring all the species of animals in their environment. Colorful style of his work balanced between abstract morphology, story-telling, as well as humor and irony.

In the recent years, a lot of attention has been given to his work. In 2009, our favorite skateboard label Habitat started to produce limited edition signature series of desk dedicated to Charley Harper. Featuring his birds and another animals, desks became intimate and functional pieces of art and hommage to the famous artists. The similar new use of Harper's work we have found in this memory game from Ammo books.

Some time ago we have visited this modernist apartment building by Jean Ginsberg (1905 - 1983) in Paris.

Born in Poland and active in France, Ginsberg is one of the most interesting protagonists of French modernist architecture in the generations after Le Corbusier and his influence. He is most famous for his Parisian apartment buildings he designed during the 1950s.

This one on 19 rue du Docteur Blanche in 16th arrondissement de Paris is the prime example of his main work. The building, created in collaboration with Georges Massé between 1950 and 1953, features organically designed garden, as well as summer terrace on the top and many original details such as concrete benches and others.

Our own Mark magazine was delivered inside great colorful packaging.

One of the most important architecture magazines of our days, Amsterdam-based Mark magazine, highlights in the original content, as well as great form. Art directed by Barbara Iwanicka, the magazine features strong, bold and colorful graphic layout as its sisters magazines Frame and Elephant from Frame Publishing company. Its nice plastic packaging caught our eyes very much.

Thanks for opportunity to collaborate with Mark.

Time to time we have to publish something new from our very favorite Paris-based show-maker Pierre Hardy. This time we are surprised from these sculptural wedges he has designed for his Summer 2013 collection.
